Acupuncturist Louise Jeffrey practises in North Sydney & LindfieldLouise Jeffrey is an experienced, qualified and recognised Acupuncturist, who has a special interest in the treatment of fertility, pregnancy and post-natal care. Louise runs a busy practice in North Sydney, and also works part time for AcuIVF Support, a clinic offering treatment (with acupuncture) and support of men and women undergoing IVF.

Louise has three small children of her own, so she understands not only the demands of being a parent, but also what a privilege it is to be able to carry a child and give birth. This understanding, coupled with the benefits that Traditional Chinese Medicine offers, allows her the opportunity to help restore balance to your body, in the most effective yet natural way. This will help to maximise your chances of conception, resulting in a healthy and happy pregnancy, birth and baby.

Louise trained at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in London and graduated with a BSc Honours degree and Licentiate in Acupuncture from the University of Portsmouth. She is a member of ANTA and registered with the Chinese Medicine Registration Board of Australia (CMRB), which means she upholds a strict code of ethics and accountability. Louise is registered as a provider with all health funds that offer rebates for acupuncture.

‘My journey to Acupuncture started in childhood, where alternative medicine was part of my everyday life. I remember many trips to the homeopath, naturopath and acupuncturist for myself and my siblings. My mother would always try alternative therapies before medicating, where possible. Her belief was that the body has a wonderous ability to heal itself, given the right tools.

It was only much later, after some time in the corporate world, that I decided to pursue my dream of becoming an alternative health practitioner. I researched various different modalities, and fell in love with Chinese Medicine. As I researched further, my interest in this subtle, yet hugely powerful system of medicine grew. It was when I was  successfully treated with Acupuncture that I decided to commit to three years of study and become an Acupuncturist.

Chinese Medicine offers me the opportunity to pursue those things I most enjoy – my insatiable curiosity in the wonderous healing power of nature, a desire to help others and my enjoyment of the scientific. I strive to continually improve my skills and knowledge through ongoing training and self development.

My philosophy is one of ’empowering healthcare’ – working in partnership with my clients, so that we share in a common goal – achieving optimum health. I also feel it is imperative to review progress at various stages along the way, to ensure we are achieving what we set out to’.
